Insulated Sectional Overhead Doors for Industrial Units
Insulated sectional overhead doors are a popular choice for industrial units due to their superior energy efficiency, durability, and security. These doors are composed of multiple sections that are interconnected and move vertically along tracks, allowing for complete opening and closing of the doorway. The insulated lath used in these doors provides an effective barrier against heat loss or gain, helping to maintain a comfortable and energy-efficient environment within the industrial space.
The insulated panels in sectional overhead doors are typically filled with a high-density insulation material, such as polyurethane or polystyrene. This insulation helps to prevent heat transfer, reducing energy costs associated with heating or cooling the industrial unit. Additionally, the insulated panels can contribute to noise reduction, creating a quieter and more productive working environment.
Sectional overhead doors are available in various configurations and can be customized to meet specific requirements. They can be equipped with features such as windows, personnel doors, and security enhancements, providing added functionality and protection. By investing in insulated sectional overhead doors, industrial units can benefit from improved energy efficiency, reduced energy costs, enhanced security, and a more comfortable and productive working environment.
Composition of Sectional doors
Outer and Inner Sheet:
0.5mm hot dipped galvanised steel. Both inner and outer sheets are supplied “V” grooved to provide increased lateral strength, and the whole panel is made-up to form a “T+G” joint top and bottom.
Core:
39mm thick rigid polyurethane foam, density 40kg/m3.
Seal:
Low density compressible foam at panel base, and PVC Tape to the panel nose, all factory applied.
Thermal performance
Sectional door panels provide high levels of insulation. The foam core between the inner and outer steel sheets of the door panel creates effective interruption of cold bridges, thus preventing transmission of heat or cold.
Colours & finishes
Outer Skin:
The outer skin is finished and coloured to match most contemporary building cladding.
Inner Skin:
The internal liner skin is finished in RAL 9010 white, polyester coated, stucco embossed galvanised steel as standard.
Acoustics
The 40mm insulated door panel gives sound reduction of (Rw) 25db. Please note; this is for the panel only, and does not include joints, i.e. a fully installed door.
Manually operated ‘hand chain’ doors
Ideally suited to industrial applications, the shutter is manually raised via a continuous haul chain.
Electrically operated doors
Ideally suited for industrial applications that require frequent usage. Operated by a 3 phase 415 volt electric motor in lieu of the hand chain wheel drive mechanism. The standard actuation method is via an up, down and stop push button station. A manual override continuous haul chain is provided for use in the event of a power failure. A single phase 240 volt option is available where site conditions dictate.
